LABOR ISSUES

ABOMA negotiates industry labor agreements on behalf of member buildings (employers) who authorize ABOMA to include them into the negotiations.

Participation in ABOMA labor agreements is available only to ABOMA Members. Non-members must deal alone and directly with each union.

All ABOMA Labor Agreements include a "favored employer" clause (which means that non-members and those buildings who deal direct with the union are not able to get a more favorable contact) as well as an arbitration process to assist members in settling labor disputes.

ABOMA presently has labor Agreements with:

SEIU Local 1

Three year contract – December 1, 2008 through November 30, 2011
covering janitorial employees in residential Buildings.
